At the Gold Coast there is always something exciting happening and this April is no different, because we have the Gold Coast Film Festival on from the 9th-19th April. The Gold Coast has become an internationally renowned location for filmmakers everywhere and the film festival is a celebration of the dynamic and creative culture of film making.

The aim of this festival is to encourage and reward young talented filmmakers in Australia and this is a very prestigious festival, with awards for the best animated film, comedy, indie, drama etc. There are also free seminars and workshops for inspiring young film makers and even a trivia night for film geeks.

The festival is held in various locations across the Gold Coast, from the Pacific Fair Shopping Centre, to the Gold Coast Arts Centre, The Royal Queensland Art Society Gallery and Surfers Paradise Beach. This year should be fabulous because you can watch a diverse array of unique short films in a fabulous outdoor setting on the main beach at Surfers.

Combine the excitement of the film festival with the nightlife, restaurants and cafes of the Gold Coast and multiply that by the sun, surf and the glorious beaches and you have a holiday of a lifetime.
